What began as "Egg Harbor Trails" has now expanded into "Door County Trails." Our team, our capabilities, and our vision have grown to include all of Door County's communities. Communities that build and share trails, share common connections. Safe, well-designed multi-use off-road pathways provide a ribbon of recreation and a carbon-free travel corridor for pedestrians and bicyclists of all abilities to explore and engage with our neighbors on modern and sustainable pathways with the goal of reducing vehicular traffic while encouraging healthy lifestyles.
Now, Door County has the opportunity to embrace this worldwide trail movement. Partnerships that started with the Towns of Egg Harbor and Gibraltar, the Villages of Sister Bay and Ephraim, and Peninsula State Park, are now expanding to include all Door County communities.
With the assistance of the National Park Service, this professionally designed trail system will provide an off-road conduit for pedestrians and bicyclists to more safely explore and enjoy this wonderful land we call Door County. The trails will provide a year-round off-road link to parks, restaurants, recreation, and lodging. They will access schools, jobs, and civic centers while carrying residents to work, visitors on adventures, and our children to school.
This initiative is a community effort, and your involvement is essential to its success. Your thoughts, insights, and concerns are important and will help guide the process.
