Village of Egg Harbor is a Green Tier Legacy Community

Green Tier is a voluntary program that recognizes and rewards environmental performance "that voluntarily exceeds legal requirements related to health, safety and the environment resulting in continuous improvement in this state's environment, economy, and quality of life."

Resolution 2017-17 was passed in August 2017 and approved Village participation in the Green Tier Legacy Community framework.

The Green Tier Community framework includes six categories:
•Health  • Energy  • Waste  • Land  • Water & Sewer  •Transportation

The Village of Egg Harbor is required to submit an annual report to Green Tier at the Department of Natural Resources.  This report consists of accomplishments, in-progress projects, and other future ideas.

2026 Big Plant Tree Sale - Another great year, another 10,000 Trees

In partnership with the Climate Change Coalition, the Village of Egg Harbor is making it easier for our residents to be part of the 2026 Big Plant!

Each season, the Big Plant offers native trees and shrubs for purchase—giving families, schools, and businesses a chance to plant on their own properties. By choosing native species, you’re helping restore local ecosystems and strengthen Door County’s climate resilience.

Order your trees from Climate Change Coalition by Tuesday, March 31.  Order here!

What is the Big Plant? - The Door County Big Plant was inspired and created by the Climate Change Coalition of Door County, and it is executed each year by hundreds of Door County individuals, families, businesses, churches, and non-profit ecological partners. We act as a community to plant thousands of trees over a 6-week period in celebration of Earth Day. (EVERY DAY is Earth Day.)
